Izvleček:The research was carried out with the objective of determining the affectation of cultural identity on the development and learning of high school youth from the "José Pedro Maldonado Duque" Bilingual Intercultural Community Educational Unit. of the Imbabura Province, Otavalo Canton, school year 2021. -2022, which in recent years has distinguished a loss of cultural identity in young people, affecting the process of educational development in regard to values, traditions and beliefs of their culture, because of this, it is necessary that the educational institution generates new orientation alternatives in order to raise awareness about the value of cultural identity. In the field research process, both qualitative and quantitative tools were used that allowed the collection of information, through instruments such as the survey, the interview and the observation sheet; Subsequently, the analysis and interpretation of data on cultural identity in development and learning was carried out, identifying the different causes, including modernization, the use of technological means such as management of social networks and the migration of family members to other countries; Consecutively, various pedagogical actions were proposed where teachers, parents and students participate in activities such as educational support measures to mitigate the devaluation of cultural identity, in order to train autonomous, critical young people capable of demonstrating the great value they have. of belonging to an ethnic group with an invaluable cultural wealth.
