Zusammenfassung:The collaborative work is a teaching strategy that is applied in educational plan, in order to promote collaboration between team members to meet a common goal. This methodology has ability to develop cognitive habilitates, procedural and attitudinal in students, always that exist the intervention of a teacher that guides towards the acquisition of knowledge from their own experiences. The present study done in the Educational Unit "Alfredo Pérez Guerrero" located at Imbabura, analyzes the main potentialities, benefits, and drawbacks of collaborative work in virtual environments, specifically in students at high school, between 13 and 14 years. The quantitative method was used applying the survey to get information, with a questionnaire composed of 11 questions for teachers and 10 questions for students. The sample size was 14 teachers and 83 students. The results allowed us to determine that collaborative work helps to generate significant learning since it makes it possible that in addition to academic knowledge, students are trained in values, learning to be supportive, collaborative, reflective and empathetic; a factor that will be useful throughout their lives. That is why training teachers in the use of technological tools will facilitate the application of effective teaching strategies in virtual classrooms, which is essential to generate a good group work environment.
