El hacinamiento carcelario en el centro de privación de libertad “Bellavista” del cantón Santo Domingo.

The prison population is the reality that has been studied the most over time, both the wayin which it occurs, the effects and the measures that the state takes to avoid prisonovercrowding; In recent years, Ecuador has gone through a huge prison crisis, since thepopulation of inmates in detention centers has been increasing, therefore, the research had the general objective of determining the factors that cause prison overcrowdingspecifically in the “Bellavista” Deprivation of Liberty Center in Santo Domingo. Theresearch has been descriptive, field and documentary, under a qualitative and quantitativeapproach, the methods were inductive- deductive and analytical-synthetic, since it hassought to analyze the reality of prison overcrowding within the "Bellavista" detentioncenter. of the Santo Domingo canton in order to know the contrast that exists between thenumber of people deprived of liberty with the resources of hygiene, education, health andothers, which guarantee a true social rehabilitation, for this an analysis of the doctrine,regulations and statistical data, in terms of techniques, direct observation and interview were carried out, with the result that the Santo Domingo detention center has an excess of people deprived of liberty, which leads to the conclusion of the need for an adequate spacein order to guarantee rehabilitation and social reintegration.
