Sammanfattning:The Kichwa Otavalo community has been affected by globalization and has come to be interpreted as 'the culture is dying' when in reality it can be considered as a change in which inevitably the cultural sector is involved, changes can not be stopped but can be addressed , Kichwa adults seek to preserve their identity while young people prefer to take their knowledge, knowledge and culture with new ways to show them, in all areas music, dance, theater, literature. By putting both ideals in the balance many times they provoke debates that mostly separate the indigenous community even more, but the attempts to continue gathering knowledge and people in search of a true interculturality, make that both indigenous and mestizos take the reigns of his own people using everything possible of their environment and ability to continue building and sharing the ancestral knowledge of the city of Otavalo.
