Violencia de género en el Ecuador

Throughout history it is identified as an important event in the struggle to overcome the structural barriers of inequality between individuals the enactment of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (1948), in whose Articles 1 and 2 states that “all human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights, without distinction of race, color, sex, language, religion, political opinion, etc.” However, despite to the fact that this instrument forms part of several international treaties and that it was ratified by the States, does not solve the inequity in the fulfillment of the rights of the women; thus observing the subordination of women to men, which from the culture it has been naturalized and permissive, both in the private and public sectors. It is before this reality that develops the struggle of women for the recognition of equality of their rights in relation to that of men and gives way to the fact that in the years 1952 and 1957 in the Women's Conventions, the idea of ​​protecting the rights of women is exposed. women in areas where they were especially vulnerable (Huerta, 2012).
