Résumé:This Project has the aim of analyzing the kichwa’s funerary customs of “La Calera” Community from an ethnographic perspective. The research is based on the application of qualitative methods such as interviews, life stories, and selfethnography. This funerary practices are analyzed from a ritual and symbolic perspective. The ritual element emphasizes the different customs for adults and children wakes and funerals. In the symbolic part, the representations of the Andean worldview within the rituals are analyzed, including elements such as liminality and solidarity. This work generates an ethnographic record that registers the funerary practices of the community and may be useful for future generations to understand the cultural customs of this community.
