Comparación del sistema penitenciario ecuatoriano, uruguayo y sueco frente a la rehabilitación social de la persona privada de la libertad

This research work responds to the problematic situation regarding the lack of effective public policies that guarantee the social rehabilitation of persons deprived of liberty in Ecuador, for which, through bibliographic and documentary documents, the prison system could be compared Ecuadorian with the Uruguayan and Swedish penitentiary system, therefore, the question of the problem was: from the Uruguayan and Swedish penitentiary system, how to guarantee the social rehabilitation of people deprived of liberty in the Ecuadorian penitentiary system? The general objective was to compare the current Ecuadorian, Uruguayan and Swedish prison system in relation to the social rehabilitation of persons deprived of liberty, the frequency used a qualitative approach, the type of comparative research, with a documentary design, the method was used of comparative research and as techniques the bibliographic and documentary analysis and research instruments the charting and comparative matrix. It was evident that the Ecuadorian prison system is in crisis, and has not managed to fulfill its objective of rehabilitating persons deprived of liberty, so it is recommended that the Ecuadorian State take into account the Swedish social rehabilitation model and the proposals that Uruguay is doing.
