Afegir etiqueta | Sumari: | This paper presents the results of research carried out in the “August 5” Parish of the city of Esmeraldas, whose purpose was to understand the psychosocial impact of the April 16, 2016 earthquake. For this study, the qualitative approach was used, with a non-experimental synchronic design. A semi-structured interview was conducted with an intentional non-probabilistic sample of 10 people domiciled in the Parish, aged between 30 and 50 years, with serious material losses, but who did not lose family members and continued to live in the sector. The analysis of the impact was performed on both community and individual levels. The study found that there was a deterioration in the sense of community due to the material and emotional loss that people experienced; while at the individual level there was the presence of health problems, sleep problems, fear and insecurity. |
