This area belonging to the Kutukú-EBK Biological Station, located in the Sevilla Don Bosco, in Macas city, province of Morona Santiago, in order to determine the floristic composition and characterize the Natural regeneration, by studying the categories: “brinzales and latizales.” The field data obtained were made in the Permanent Production Plot (PPP), with an area of 1 ha, which was established in 2016. For the brinzaled, the simple random sampling method was applied, starting from The Division of the PPP in subplots of 10 x 10 m. In this case, the individuals were from 30 cm in height. For latizales, a forest census was applied, to get this data, the total height of the individual and the Diameter to the Height of the Chest (DHC) from 1 cm was taken. In this case, we evaluated the richness, diversity, abundance of the species and the natural regeneration of the forest. For individuals with a DHC mayor at 10 cm, the following variables were calculated: volume, forest biomass, amount of carbon and CO2 stored. Then the results are 31 families, 19 genera, 86 species and 3423 individuals per hectare, containing 33.74 m3 of wood were registered, demonstrating the high potential for natural regeneration. The family with the highest prevalence is Euphorbiaceae, whose most representative species are Mabea speciosa Müll. Arg. and Acalypha cuneata Poepp. & Endel. |

Arg. and Acalypha cuneata Poepp. & Endel.La investigación se realizó en el ecosistema de bosque primario de 10 ha perteneciente a la Estación Biológica Kutukú-EBK-, ubicado en la parroquia Sevilla Don Bosco, cantón Macas, provincia de Morona Santiago, con el propósito de determinar la composición florística y caracterizar la regeneración natural, mediante el estudio de las categorías: brinzales y latizales. Los datos de campo obtenidos, se realizaron en la Parcela Permanente de Producción (PPP), con una superficie de 1 ha, misma que fue establecida en el año 2016. Para brinzales, se aplicó el método de muestreo aleatorio simple, a partir de la división de la PPP en subparcelas de 10 x 10 m. En este caso, fueron considerados individuos a partir de 30 cm de altura. Para latizales, se aplicó un censo forestal, para cuyo efecto se tomó datos de la altura total del individuo y el Diámetro a la Altura del Pecho (DAP) a partir de 1 cm. En este caso, se evaluó la riqueza, diversidad, abundancia de las especies y la regeneración natural del bosque. Para los individuos con un DAP mayor a 10 cm, se calculó las variables: volumen, biomasa forestal, la cantidad de carbono y CO2 almacenado. Como resultado, se registraron 31 familias, 19 géneros, 86 especies y 3423 individuos por hectárea, que contienen 33,74 m3 de madera, lo que demuestra el alto potencial de regeneración natural. La familia con mayor prevalencia es Euphorbiaceae, cuyas especies más representativas son Mabea speciosa Müll.
