Ամփոփում:In this theses project titled “Design of a drip irrigation system, capturing water from Katun Yacu river for Agato community’s stadium in canton Otavalo” which was presented to that community’s president, informing him about the benefits of having a technified irrigation system for the community’s sports court capturing water from the nearby river and not using the drinking water that they usually use for consumption and watering the crops. First chapter has a brief history about drip irrigation, the community’s geographical location, the topographic survey concept, terms used on pumping systems, irrigation system components, type of pumps, sprinklers and valves, hydraulics basics. Second chapter deals with alternative selections like pumps, pipes and sprinklers, choosing the most suitable for the project endorsed by a qualification and analyzing its advantages and downsides. Third chapter presents all calculations where is indicated that a 15Hp pump and a 2Hp pump were used with a 3’’ pipe because of the distant and high the fluid (water) had to travel. At last, forth chapter contains all the costs of the project, both direct and indirect, where it pointed out that the cost of the project would have a total expense of $22,272.12 with all market rates and NPV and IRR analysis checked.
