La Visita del Papa Francisco al Ecuador; entre la manipulación de la imagen y la rebeldía social.

On July 5, 2015; Jorge Mario Bergoglio, Pope Francisco, arrived to Ecuador. Upon arrival he was received by Catholics who did not delight with the presence of such personality since 1985, year in which Karol Woytila, Pope Juan Pablo II, visited the country during the government of Engineer León Febres Cordero. With his arrival to the Mariscal Sucre International Airport of Quito City, Pope Francisco started his pastoral visit, which it was developed in Quito and Guayaquil amid a heated climate by protests against the regime's policies of Rafael Correa, specifically against the Law of Inheritance and Appreciation. The ecclesiastical visit represents before, during and after, a strong state investment in infrastructure and logistics that meant higher stability for the Citizen Revolution, and therefore, a worthy investment to be made to keep afloat the political image of the Ecuadorian state inside and outside its borders, that called for reconciliation and dialogue, responding positively to the interests of the government that saw on the Pope, a tool of social control and manipulation. With the end of the visit, the protests resurfaced and it became evident that the discontent of the citizenship with respect to the Ecuadorian government went beyond, as the climate of political discontent increased and the social manipulation by political groups was strengthened to destabilize the government.
