Shrnutí:This work presents a reconditioning and preventive maintenance plan for the biomedical equipment of the Bioinstrumentation and Biomechanics Laboratory at Universidad Politécnica Salesiana, Guayaquil campus. Its objective is to ensure operational reliability, safety, and extend the useful life of the equipment. The research addresses the issues arising from the lack of formal technical protocols, which lead to equipment failures, interruptions in academic practices, and risks to users. A methodological approach is proposed, divided into three phases: strategic selection of the most relevant equipment based on technical condition and frequency of use; detailed diagnostics through inspections, functional testing, and document analysis; and execution of a structured preventive maintenance plan with defined schedules and procedures. The study includes concepts of technical reconditioning, types and importance of preventive maintenance in critical environments, and descriptions of specific equipment such as centrifuges, incubators, and urine analyzers. The implementation of the plan aims to keep the equipment operational, improve hands-on learning experiences for students in the Biomechanics and Bioinstrumentation Laboratory, and promote a culture of care and technological sustainability within the university setting.
