Add Tag | Summary: | The present investigation: Evaluation of the intelligence in older adults, neighborhood San Vicente parish of Yaruquí, carried out during the period of April to July of the 2016, by means of the application of the Scale Wechsler of intelligence for adults WAIS-IV, with a sample Of 15 elderly adults; Which is part of one of the projects carried out since the Psychology degree at the Salesian Polytechnic University. The objective of the study was to know the state of intelligence present in the elderly and the characteristics of it, making a comparison between fluid intelligence and crystallized intelligence. The group of older adults with whom it has worked, is made up of people who have developed their life in the field, where primary education is complete and incomplete and, while a minimum percentage of people have higher education. Many of them have developed activities in the rural area, with their own businesses and agricultural and trade activities in the field. The results show a predominance of crystallized intelligence over fluid intelligence, which coincides with the results obtained from other similar studies in the adult population. It is highlighted that, although the average performances of the group are slightly below the average, their performance is normal. |
