Diseño y simulación de una solución basada en una red de comunicaciones inalámbrica con políticas de seguridad, para la certificación del bachillerato internacional de la institución educativa fiscal “Miguel de Santiago”

In this project, a wireless communications network was designed based on the 802.11 standard, this network allowed to improve the methods of study within the institution, in addition to completing a fundamental requirement to obtain certification of the international Baccalaureate. Among the objectives of the project are: the design of a wireless communications network that meets parameters of scalability, security and authentication; A simulated radio frequency environment is designed to provide coverage in the most important areas of the campus, as well as a study that identifies external sources that would affect the new wireless network. The analysis of the coverage study of the APs showed the amount of equipment that would be necessary to obtain 90% coverage on the campus of the Educational Institution with RSSI levels above -70dBm, in addition to their respective location within the institution, this location facilitated the propagation of the signal through the structural environment that the institution has. In order to make the design feasible in the future, a technical economical analysis was carried out, this analysis determined that the equipment of the company CISCO offer high category, high benefits and at the same time the costs are adapted to a certain budget, in such a way that it was demonstrated A cost-benefit relationship which is adjusted to the needs of the educational institution.
