Sistematización de la participación política y social de los miembros del consejo de jóvenes del Movimiento Indígena y Campesino de Cotopaxi (MICC) desde el 2012

In recent years among indigenous organizations has increased both, the interest and concern to understand the needs of the youth, and listen to their opinions, this includes a series of actions to develop policies for strengthen youth activities, since the Ecuadorean Constitution states that the youth are strategic actors for development. One can say that participation is part of the process to build a society based in a true “Sumak Kawsay” and the young must have a representative voice in the decisions. This research is the result of the systematization of 2012. One of the main findings of this research is the broad support of adult leaders to the organization, as well as the political involvement of young women, which has allowed breaking, in a way, chauvinist scheme within the organization. Through this research, it became clear that the objective of the Youth Council is the involvement of more participants to form leaders in their communities based on the field of politics with critical thinking of reality, and thus to strengthen their organizations to which, it is working on "School Leadership Development" which aims to build young people able to propose and build social changes, as well as strengthen the "other" kind of indigenous organization that is not intended to be a political party, but to train the youth under the slogan "Saying and Doing
