Summary: | This research project Local Development Experiences in the Union of Organizations and People Chibuleo UNOPUCH period 2000 to 2012. To this effect, the objectives were: Analyze UNOPUCH experience in local development. Knowing the organizational process UNOPUCH, identifying strengths and weaknesses. The methodology used for the fulfillment of the objectives, was based on bibliographic work and ethnographic fieldwork. The experience is understood as a process built from life, as well as communities in local development UNOPUCH was the socio-organizational strengthening, it focuses on improving the quality of life and satisfaction of needs production and entrepreneurship of present and future generations through the implementation of agro-productive projects with emphasis on ecosystem conservation moors. It has also considered the tourist potential of the area for its natural attractions centered mainly in the hills, natural viewpoints, valleys, lakes, forests, wilderness reserves, flora and fauna among others. The economy of the communities UNOPUCH is generated by agricultural production developed in a few tracts of land, the main productive activities among vegetables, products sold to cities Coast, East and Quito. In recent years with the creation of Indigenous Unions Credit, many young people have agreed to serve on it. As strengths, the current President, said that living as a leader with various individuals and families has given the opportunity to learn more about the different life situations, so maintain their customs, traditions, autonomy and their traditional costumes are easy recognizable 10 nationally and internationally, its main language is Quechua as their second language is Castilian (Spanish), 90% of the population to UNOPUCH subsidiaries are indigenous. The UNOPUCH has all legal grounds, own headquarters, milk collection center, etc., it has strengthened the image and dignity of the organization, between these and other merits to the signed agreement between H. Provincial Council of Tungurahua: FEDEICOMISO Fund Tungurahua of Deserts and the Fight Against Poverty, for the implementation and improvement of pasture improvement and irrigation systems, provision of livestock, construction and implementation of a milk collection center. Among the weaknesses of the organization, there is still some traditional structure, paternalism and sexism in which it is determined that there is a lack of board members who make the organizational structure, limited support from local authorities and community leaders, among others. |
