Estudio sociolingüístico de la vitalidad del kichwa en la comunidad Laime Bajo San Carlos, parroquia matriz, cantón Guamote

The linguistic research on the vitality of the Kichwa was carried out in the legal community "Laime Bajo", of the Guamote Canton, province of Chimborazo. It was done with the active participation of the community population directly. To this end, a data collection methodology was designed and the pertinent investigative instruments were applied, such as interviews, field observation, bibliographical material, web pages and other media that allowed us to define a global understanding on the subject. Prior to this a conceptual framework was formulated. Once the information was collected, very important aspects were found that had the cultural elements as indigenous patrimony among them. When analyzing the data it was found that the Kichwa language still has vitality in the community in most of the members of the different segments of the population, although some sectors of people who have distrust in the value of their own language have begun to emerge. The attitude of the people is very positive because there is still the valuation and maintenance of the identity of the indigenous peoples and the use of the Kichwa language up to the present. The aspiration is to value the language in a permanent way, always confronting the globalized systems and the colonization that pretend to dominate and disappear this important element that is the language. For this, at the end of the work a proposal has been established for the strengthening of the language.
