Résumé:According to current policies, the changes in the current system, are intended to ensure the quality of education to contribute to the formation of the student according to concrete and actual circumstances of the environment. The research was carried out since is has been detected some dissatisfaction of the inhabitants of the community of "Tocagón" with policies at the Bilingual Intercultural education system. Was considered as a general objective knowing the expectations of indigenous families from the community of Tocagón on the education that their children receive and daughters to determine aspirations to enter the education system and as a specific objective discussed in general the process of the institutional system of Bilingual Intercultural education in the Ecuador and the current pedagogical foundations; within the methodological part, applied field research, documentary and descriptive, by methods using inductive, deductive, descriptive and analytical. The population was formed by students, parents and teachers from the community of Tocagón, who applied a survey and an interview; the use of observation cards allowed to contrast the information. The obtained data were tabulated, analyzed and interpreted and led to determine that all reforms and processes made up to the present date, constitute a contribution of follow-up, to know the existing reality of as Bilingual Intercultural education model has an impact on the economic, social and educational development of the indigenous communities of our country
