| Summary: | The present thesis project presents a mathematical and a digital model for the estimation of the future power and electrical energy demand, of the Quito Electric Company. (EEQ) The model consists of linear and non-linear algorithms that simulate the power and energy demand based on historical values and its correlation with other independent variables, for three scenarios of future demand. As part of this research work a synthesis of methods and models usually employed for the estimation of electricity demand are presented. The results of the application of the model, with linear and non-linear functions, are compared to the estimates made by the EEQ and by the CONELEC, and on this basis the more relevants conclusions and recommendations are also presented Key words. - Electric power, energy demand, demand estimation, mathematical modeling, demand scenarios, correlation functions. |
