Los primeros pasos de la autoevaluación institucional dio el CONUEP (Consejo Nacional de Universidades y Escuelas Politécnicas), en 1996, con la creación del Sistema de Evaluación y Acreditación Universitaria (SEAU) y la posterior discusión y elaboración de una “Guía de procedimientos para la autoevaluación institucional”. El propósito fundamental fue la rendición social de cuentas de las instituciones de educación superior. |
