This work was taken performed in three altitude floors at (2867, 3103 and 3365 m.s.n.m), for to knowing the behaviour of Polylepis racemosa in nursery using vegetative propagation with four sticks long in level floor.La mayoría de las especies del yagual (Polylepis sp.) se encuentran de 3000 a 3200 m.s.n.m. disminuyendo el numero de especies a mayor y menor altura, afortunadamente representan uno de los hábitat más vulnerables de los altos Andes por la fuerte presión antropogénica existente, los desmontes para aumentar la frontera agrícola, también aumentar espacios libre de arbustos para el pastoreo, la utilización como combustible ha sido una de las causas más devastadoras en la destrucción de nuestros paramos.
