It was investigated and measured the performance of optical traffic system with "Ether10.Genius ALBEDO Telecom4" equipment, in a simulation environment to determine how much affects the optical Ethernet traffic with two different types of degradations that can be generated with this equipment. These degradations verified the capacity of the system in a simulation’s optical Ethernet traffic environment can handle. The results determined in two types of degradation: the first event inserted was an undersized frame of the minimum size (64 bytes). The inclusion of this event determine the theoretical limit of the canal’s capacity for each frame size, that is, a normal throughput with a frame of 256 bytes, the theoretical speed is 9275,363328 Mb /s, in the moment which the corrupt frames were inserted, with a smaller size, the speed decreases according to the percentage of the inserted error, that is, if it was inserted an event at 5%, the speed will decrease by 5 %. It should be noted that the throughput limit must not exceed 90 % of degradation according to standard. The second degradation is an IPv4 checksum that generates an incorrect IP header, which is reflected in the corrupt optical Ethernet traffic generation, this event was inserted in burst mode 50 frames per press of the “event key”, when the event was inserted to the RFC 2544 test, it fails because the recovery time reaches its maximum allowed time that is 22 ms.

Se investigó y midió el funcionamiento del sistema de tráfico óptico con un equipo “Ether10.Genius ALBEDO Telecom2” en un entorno de simulación para determinar cuánto afecta al tráfico Ethernet óptico con dos diferentes tipos de degradaciones que se pueden generar con ese equipo. Estas degradaciones permitieron comprobar la capacidad que puede soportar el sistema óptico. Para comprobar la capacidad del canal los resultados determinaron en dos tipos de degradaciones que el primer evento insertado fue insertar tramas acortándolas al tamaño mínimo (64 bytes). La inserción de éste evento permite determinar la capacidad del canal para cada tamaño de trama, es decir, para una prueba de rendimiento (throughput) normal con una trama de 256 bytes la velocidad fue 9275,363328 Mb/s, al momento de insertar las tramas corruptas con un tamaño más pequeño la velocidad disminuye de acuerdo al porcentaje del error insertado, es decir, si se inserta un evento al 5 %, la velocidad disminuirá un 5 %. Cabe recalcar que el límite del throughput no debe sobrepasar el 90 % según la norma.
