Summary:The Rom people are a culture with presence of over 200 years in Ecuador, but they are not recognized by the state as a nationality, culture or ethnicity. The investigations regarding to them are null or scarce, for this reason the research aims to become a tool for the organizational process of the Rom people. The research was conducted from a qualitative approach, and within this, the exploratory approach was used, worked with authors like Montero and Beebe, whose methodologies have been used as models for research where the priority is to show the problems of a particular group to promote action, finding and solving the problem or need and in many cases the primary need, that the human group to have information about their realities to make themselves evident as political actors. The results of the research reflect a problematic on issues like education and health; plus an alarming negative perception by the larger society, but also expose us to an ancient culture with great cultural wealth and historic significance.
