Summary:Ecuador, internationally recognized for its outstanding rose production, benefits from favorable climatic conditions for the cultivation of these flowers. The quality of roses destined for export is of vital importance to the country's economy. In this context, the study focused on examining the impact of different post-harvest storage periods on the final quality of roses, with the aim of ensuring effective marketing in international markets. The study was carried out using a completely randomized experimental design (CRD) with a 2x3 factorial arrangement and 4 replications, considering different post-harvest periods. In the treatment of 2 hours of hydration in cold storage, and after shipment, the presence of Botrytis was observed, with means of 1.25 for Explorer and 2.5 for Gotcha, and Abuse with 0.75 for Explorer and 3 for Gotcha. At 72 hours of hydration, Botrytis recorded means of 3 for Explorer and 3.5 for Gotcha, and Abuse was 2.5 for Explorer and 3 for Gotcha. At 144 hours of hydration, Botrytis reached means of 3.25 for Explorer and 5 for Gotcha, with Maltreatment of 2.75 for Explorer and 3.5 for Gotcha, Pitching showed values of 2.75 for Explorer and 4.25 for Gotcha, while Wilting was 2.25 for Gotcha and 3.25 for Explorer. These results highlight the relevance of cold storage on the quality of roses, underlining the need to consider this factor in postharvest management to ensure the quality and durability of flowers during transport and marketing.
