总结:The research focuses in the importance of the identity recognition that represents for the Afro-Ecuadorian culture in Carapungo. This has been distorted by the naturalization of imaginary misconceptions that have unleashed in a social segregation with the sector in question. But how has the Afro-Ecuadorian culture developed a process of transformation and resignification from identity recognition? Identity recognition is important for any culture, but it has not been easy to obtain. Afro-Ecuadorians have encountered limitations for this, from historical factors such as slavery, racial discrimination, imaginary representation, among others. The Afro Ecuadorian culture has used this and other obstacles in a way of strength to undertake social struggles, in favor of it, with which they can meet their demands. These have been through political, social and cultural processes. The main objective of the research is to show from a different perspective the participation of Afro-Ecuadorian culture in the Carapungo community, since the locality has a high index of habitants Afro-Ecuadorians; These are categorized negatively by their ethnic status and are not considered for their significant contributions. The paper seeks to join many others who have aroused interest in the Afro-Ecuadorian environment, its history and development, in the face of a society that has ignored its presence, which has enabled it to achieve a transformation of its conception, while at the same time appropriating a Space with historical relevance in society.
