Sumari:The following research project was born after the problem of pollution generated by the use of packaging in the textile industry of Pelileo, since selling their products in plastic bags that have a relatively short shelf life contributes to pollution. Therefore, design criteria have been proposed through sustainable strategic actions for the management of waste and pollution generated by the use of packaging in the textile industry in the city of Pelileo. To fulfill this objective, a deductive method has been proposed, based on theories already established by experts, and a functional method, constituted in an observation of the system-environment perspective, trying to determine the materials and functions of the packaging used in the aforementioned industry, in addition to the observation of people's behavior, in the commercial premises, establishing their behavior, desires and needs. The study population includes textile factories and commercial textile shops in El Tambo neighborhood of Pelileo, and a non-probabilistic sample was taken, where case studies were made of Ophera, Fashion Boutique and Fashion Rey Jean, where it was evidenced that they keep plastic bags as packaging, both in their processes and for the sale of their products, and these are pollutants for the environment. In addition, interviews were conducted with experts on the variables of study, both packaging and pollution derived from the textile industry, and surveys were conducted with consumers of the commercial premises, which allowed establishing the design criteria for the proposal.
