要約:The Diablada Pillareña is a festival that represents the cultural identity of the people of Pillaro, it is a tradition that began in colonial times and symbolizes the struggle of indigenous communities against the cultural impositions of the Spanish. In 2008 it was declared a World Heritage Site and since then the number of visitors to enjoy the festivity has grown. The objective of this study is to analyze the transformation of the costume artifact of the mask of the devil of Pillaro in the popular festival as a contribution to the collective memory. A basic study with a qualitative approach was developed, the sample consisted of artisans and attendees to the festival, as well as the masks from the 1950s to 2020. The results indicated that both the design and the elaboration of the artifact have been transformed over the years. The ancient masks were characterized by being smaller in proportion to the head and face, the predominant colors were black and red, and they had horns and teeth. They were made with paper and engrudo (a form of glue made with wheat flour and water), as well as assembled with wire. On the other hand, the current ones, considered since the 2010 era, began to incorporate other elements such as chains, larger and more sophisticated horns, since they currently use materials such as fiberglass. A synthesized document was generated with the objective of promoting the democratization of information, which will be directed to the population interested in this field. This document will detail symbolic, aesthetic and constructive technical aspects related to the mask costume artifact
