| Gaia: | The purpose of this research is to generate design strategies for ephemeral spaces integrating elements of Land Art to strengthen the dissemination of natural heritage in the Casigana sector of the city of Ambato. Land Art is an artistic movement that emerged in the 1960s, mainly in the United States. This style is distinguished by using natural materials and the environment as a means of artistic expression. Land Art artists intervene in natural landscapes, creating works that are often monumental and designed to integrate with their surroundings. These creations, which may involve modifications to the terrain, the arrangement of rocks, vegetation and other natural elements, seek to establish a direct and thoughtful connection between art and nature. Land Art challenges traditional notions of art exhibition and marketing, moving works outside of conventional gallery and museum spaces, and promoting a more immersive and contextualized experience in nature. The Casigana sector is an iconic hill in the city of Ambato, located south of the city and visible from elevated areas. For many, it could become the main 'lung' of the capital of Tungurahua, standing out for its sensitivity towards the landscape and being located in a way that respects the natural line of the terrain; However, despite its undeniable potential as a tourist attraction and its intrinsic value as a natural heritage, it faces a critical problem that compromises its integrity and its ability to be used in a sustainable manner, generated by the accumulation of waste and the persistent presence of criminal activities that completely waste its beauty and ecology; Therefore, through this work the application of Land Art on Cerro Casigana is sought to help the conservation of natural heritage and feed environmental education. |
