Estrategias urbano-arquitectónicas para el diseño del parque ubicado en los antiguos tanques de CEPE

This research focuses on the urban-architectural design of a park at the site of the former Petroecuador reserve tanks, although the company's office area remains operational. While the tanks once played an essential role in Petroecuador’s infrastructure, they are now obsolete and inactive, with their space left abandoned, creating an opportunity for valuable regeneration for the community. With a particularly convenient and strategic location, alongside its outdated industrial infrastructure, the area allows for connections with other important urban spaces, especially the nearby Parque de la Quebrada Seca. This proposal aims to connect these two green spaces, providing the community with access to them while promoting pedestrian and bicycle mobility. This connection not only facilitates access but also strengthens the integration of surrounding areas, creating a new space where people can gather. The transformed site as a park provides an accessible and recreational space, balancing the preservation of existing industrial elements with new functions that foster social interaction, collective well-being, and comfort. By reclaiming this space, we integrate a new use for land that once symbolized the local industrial vocation, turning it into a landmark of urban and environmental sustainability for the city.
