Tilføj Tag | Summary: | Ecuador, with its cultural diversity, is home to various artisanal manifestations that have been transmitted from generation to generation, which is why, in this context, this project focuses on identifying the ancestral artisanal basketry techniques present in the Niagara sector in Latacunga. The objective of the project is to rescue these techniques and reinterpret them through the creation of a collection of bags that fuse tradition with contemporaneity, generating functional and aesthetic pieces that contribute to the development of the sector. The main motivation behind this project is to improve the quality of life and guarantee fair remuneration for artisans, which is why it has especially focused on collaborating with the company Eco Canastos, seeking to implement a new business model that benefits the community. The Niagara sector, known for its reed basket crafts, will be analyzed in detail to explore possibilities for innovation in the creation of new products. The design of the accessories collection, in this case bags, is aimed at meeting the needs of consumers through a qualitative study. This process involves experimenting with various materials and conducting interviews to understand consumer preferences. The execution of both technical and aesthetic techniques will be carried out by artisans specialized in basket weaving and leather craftsmen.
