Zusammenfassung:The main objective of this degree work is to design and develop a prototype of a manual agricultural tool that optimizes the planting process of bulb onion (Allium cepa L.), meeting the needs of farmers in the community of San Francisco. The research addresses both theoretical aspects related to agricultural tools and a practical analysis based on the local context, to ensure that the final design is functional, accessible and adaptable to the real conditions of the users. Using a mixed approach, technical information was collected on the characteristics and functionalities of traditional and modern agricultural tools, as well as field data obtained through interviews and direct observations with local farmers. The results show that farmers face problems related to the weight, discomfort and high cost of existing tools, which limits their ability to adopt more advanced technologies. It was identified that current tools are not designed to fully meet the demands of the planting process, causing delays and physical wear and tear. The design proposal is based on a functional and ergonomic model, using materials selected for their durability and cost, as well as their measurements established by the break-even point calculation.
