Descripció
Sumari:This technical project focuses on the geometric design of Road Section 4, located between stations 4+500 and 8+400 in the Lindero community, Pilahuín parish, Ambato canton, Tungurahua province. The purpose of this work is to improve rural road connectivity and contribute to the socioeconomic development of the area. The analyzed roadway serves as a strategic access route for the transportation of agricultural and livestock products, while facilitating the mobility of local residents to educational, commercial, and healthcare centers, thereby strengthening the link between rural production zones and regional markets. The study applies technical parameters established by current Ecuadorian standards and internationally recognized regulations, ensuring compliance with quality and safety requirements. These criteria are adapted to the specific topographic, climatic, and traffic conditions of the region, which is characterized by steep slopes, high soil moisture content, and frequent climate variations due to its altitude. The design considers the horizontal alignment, vertical profile, cross sections, and complementary drainage elements, prioritizing operational safety, durability, and transportation efficiency to reduce traffic risks, premature structural deterioration, and maintenance costs. Additionally, the project analyzes soil properties through geotechnical testing to determine a suitable pavement structure that ensures adequate performance under local moisture conditions and expected traffic loads. This approach prevents structural failures associated with soil saturation and repetitive loading. The final outcome provides a technically and functionally improved roadway, enhancing accessibility, reducing travel times, improving agricultural transport efficiency, increasing road safety, and strengthening local economic productivity. Consequently, the project contributes to sustainable community growth and the overall development of Pilahuín.
