Análisis del artefacto vestimentario: poncho del pueblo Chibuleo

This study focuses on the analysis of the transformations of the poncho of the Chibuleo people, analyzing the historical, social and cultural changes that have influenced its transformation over time. Through an interdisciplinary approach that integrates history and design, this research seeks to understand how the patterns, materials, elaboration techniques and meaning of the poncho have varied, reflecting the dynamics of evolution within the Chibuleo people. The structure of the research is organized into four chapters, each focusing on different aspects of the Chibuleo poncho, using a qualitative methodology that combines bibliographic and documentary research with semi-structured interviews with key members of the village, including artisans, Taitas and community leaders. In addition, a photographic analysis detailing the types of ponchos used from 1960 to 2000 is used to understand their symbolic role within the Chibuleo culture. The results obtained provide a comprehensive view of how historical and social changes have influenced the design and elaboration process of the poncho, highlighting the interaction between adaptation to new contexts and the preservation of cultural identity. This study has significant academic relevance, not only for designers and historians, but also for the members of the Chibuleo people themselves, who are interested in safeguarding elements of their cultural legacy and maintaining the identity and traditions related to the poncho.
