Experimentación con la técnica artesanal de plisado para el desarrollo de propuestas de diseño textil

This project investigates the creative and functional potential of artisanal pleating through textile manipulation. Through a detailed literature review, interviews with experts in the field of textile design and practical experiments with various materials and origami figures, we seek to understand and evaluate how this technique can be applied to clothing in the fashion sector. The literature review highlights how textile manipulation opens the door to the creation of unique and personalized designs, while helping future designers to explore and experiment with new pleating figures. On the other hand, interviews with textile engineers and expert fashion designers highlight the opportunities and challenges that arise when implementing this technique. Practical experiments are carried out using different materials and different origami figures to evaluate their viability and efficiency in the creation of innovative pleats. From these experiments, the most suitable examples are selected to be applied in clothing design. As a result of this research, it has been proposed to present a catalogue of pleats that displays the results of the experimentation, in addition to highlighting the manufacturing process and the care that pleating should take. This process not only facilitates the creation of innovative textiles, but also promotes innovation in the field of fashion. The conclusions and recommendations provided seek to encourage the adoption of this technique for future designers who wish to experiment with the artisanal technique of pleating
