| Sumari: | Importance of soil tillage in the cultivation of sugar cane (Saccharum officinarum L.) in Ecuador This research work was carried out in order to collect information on the importance of soil tillage in the cultivation of sugar cane (S. officinarum L.) in Ecuador. Tillage of the soil for the establishment of a sugarcane plantation is very important, because it facilitates the performance of many agricultural tasks, as well as improves the aeration of the soil; That is why it is important to know which are the different soils that can be applied in the production of sugarcane. It is important to evaluate the conservation tillage in sugarcane under the technical biosocioeconomic conditions of the country, since national experiences in this area are scarce and its suitability in this crop has been proven under certain conditions. There is a wide application of conventional tillage and reduced tillage in the sugarcane production systems in Ecuador. The reduced tillage allows a rapid renewal of the sugar cane plantations, reducing the number of passes of agricultural machinery on the ground in order to reduce the degree of compaction, in which traditional agricultural elements are applied. |
