It can be concluded that thanks to the application of respiratory physiotherapeutic procedures, the health of the COPD patient is restored.La EPOC, es una patología caracterizada por que ocasiona un deterioro de las funciones optimas del sistema ventilatorio, principalmente se encuentran dos afecciones que contribuyen al desarrollo de la EPOC, que son la bronquitis crónica y el enfisema pulmonar, por ello es de vital importancia aplicar los procedimientos de fisioterapia ya que ayudarán al paciente a mejorar el intercambio gaseoso al igual que el restablecimiento de la salud del sistema respiratorio el objetivo general de este trabajo es determinar la relación que existe entre la fisioterapia respiratoria con la enfermedad Pulmonar Obstructiva Crónica en los adultos mayores del Hospital IESS de Babahoyo durante el periodo de mayo-septiembre 2019, los métodos aplicados fueron el de síntesis y el deductivo; la modalidad escogida es cuantitativa por los datos del proyecto y el tipo de Investigación fue de clase Descriptiva y Correlacional, las principales técnicas e instrumentos que se utilizaron fue la encuesta por medio de un formulario aplicados a los pacientes con esta enfermedad, teniendo como resultados que los procedimientos fisioterapéuticos respiratorios que más han recibido los pacientes con EPOC son percusión y vibración seguido del drenaje postural, las personas manifestaron que se encuentran expuestos a factores de riesgo siendo uno de los principales el humo de leña, otra causa resaltante es que los pacientes con esta patología han sido consumidores o se han encontrado en contacto con el tabaquismo y otros de los aspectos que más les afecta en su salud es que acuden a veces al Hospital del IESS para el tratamiento de su enfermedad.
