Description
Summary:The detailed information emphasizes the use and application of derivatives of sunflower cultivation (Helianthus annuus L.) in the Ecuadorian agroindustry. The main products obtained from sunflower are flour, used in the food industry, with a protein content between 40-50% for livestock consumption, and edible oil for human consumption. The conclusions determine that there is no evidence of information on the characteristics of the agro-industrial processes of sunflower cultivation in Ecuador; In other countries, such as Argentina, sunflower is one of the main crops that represents the raw material for import and export products; Among the derivatives of sunflower are flour, oils, biofuel and other derivatives that serve to benefit food, both for people and livestock and there are few hectares planted in the country, which is estimated to be of no importance on the part of farmers. farmers to plant this crop as an alternative to improve their economic income and in turn generate sources of employment. Therefore, it is important to train farmers about the importance of sunflower as a raw material for various products and to carry out field and production research to obtain relevant scientific research.
