Control pain can help relieve pain.El presente trabajo investigativo esta encaminado a las intervenciones de enfermería y la relación del manejo de dolor en pacientes post quirúrgicos adultos mayores que son ingresados al Hospital General Guamo Sur cursando su hospitalización en centro post operatorio. El dolor es una de las principales afecciones presentadas en pacientes adultos mayores, y teniendo en cuenta los distinto métodos de valoración del nivel de dolor, se tiene en cuenta la escala de Eva la cual, sirve para determinar de manera precisa la intensidad de la mismo y los métodos necesario para disminuir la intensidad, buscando salvaguarda la integridad del paciente y buscar buena atención optima y de calidad para la salud del paciente. El control del dolor es esencial para mejorar la calidad de vida. El dolor impide que las personas realicen las actividades que disfrutan. Esto puede impedirle hablar y pasar tiempo con otras personas. Afecta el estado de ánimo y las habilidades de pensamiento. Además, el dolor puede empeorar otros síntomas, dificultando comer y dormir. El dolor causa dolor y sufrimiento a los pacientes y a sus seres queridos. También aumenta la presión arterial, la frecuencia cardíaca y puede afectar negativamente la rehabilitación.
