| Sažetak: | Corn is a grass well known worldwide for its grains and derived products that can be obtained from its cultivation, it is of great economic, social and nutritional importance. In Ecuador in 2018, an approximate area of 262 351 ha of hard corn was planted with a national average of 5,62 t ha-1. Corn yields depend primarily on genetic characteristics and nutritional requirements. With the technique of nutrient omission plots, nutritional recommendations can be adjusted according to the needs of the crop of each site, leading to an increase in yield; For this reason, this research was carried out with the objective of evaluating the impact of the omission of nutrients in the formation of a corn hybrid, on its development and yield. For the evaluation, there were six treatments of omission of N, P, K, Mg, S, and B, plus a complete fertilization treatment, a treatment based on the application of a farmer and an absolute control, whose data were analyzed using randomized complete block design and differentiated averages using the 5% Tukey test. The variables were evaluated: plant height and ear insertion, stem diameter, percentage of acame, ear diameter and length, weight of one hundred seeds, yield, agronomic efficiency and partial productivity factor. The results obtained showed that the best yield potential with 2,093 kg ha-1 was obtained with the omission treatment of B. It was determined that the fertilization priorities of the corn parents used in this investigation, had the sequence of Mg> N> K = P> S >> B. It was also determined that the omission of N caused a decrease in the percentage of chlorophyll, plant height and ear insertion and stem diameter |
