| Sumari: | Various research on the relationship between attention and academic performance reveals that the ability to maintain attention during school activities is closely related to students' academic success. Attention is considered a crucial factor in the learning process, as it allows students to concentrate on the presentation of information, process it effectively, and remember it later. Students with more developed attention skills tend to achieve better results in their studies, as they are able to better absorb and understand the concepts taught in class. On the other hand, attention problems, such as lack of concentration, distraction, or difficulty staying focused on schoolwork, can negatively affect academic performance. Students who experience difficulty controlling their attention may have difficulty following instructions, completing assigned tasks, or actively participating in learning activities. This can translate into lower grades, lack of understanding of concepts, and less overall academic progress. The present correlational study is established in order to describe the attention and its impact on the academic performance of the students of the “Ángel Efraín Suárez Carrera” Conservatory of Music, and based on these results, reveal how these two variables are related in the students, implement effective strategies that help students develop and maintain their attention during classes. Firstly, the study begins by establishing its theoretical base, which consists of describing the ideas and theoretical contributions of several relevant researchers on the topic. Data are then collected from the population using the D2 Brickenkamp Attention Test, along with academic grades provided by teachers. Finally, we analyze how attention influences students' academic performance. |
