Sistemas de producción del maíz (Zea mays), en el cantón Babahoyo

SUMARY This research was based on information obtained through surveys of farmers in the study area. The results show certain problems in the production of corn, due to the fact that not all farmers carry out a good production system. This problem is more visible, in view, that a part of these do not carry out all the agricultural tasks in an adequate way. These problems are mainly due to the lack of economic resources, technical advice, low training programs and, to a certain extent, the little importance they give to the production of grass. All these factors together lead to a low productivity crop, greatly affecting the economy of the producers. In the same way, bibliographic information was also obtained by compiling everything concerning the production systems of the corn crop, some sources from which information was collected affirm that this crop is of great economic importance, since it contributes to the feeding of the population. global and national. Ecuador has great potential for the production of grains such as corn, mainly in the coastal region, cultivating a number of 252 942 9 hectares, with the provinces of Guayas, Los Ríos, Manabí as the most productive at the national level.
