Pérdida brusca de la agudeza visual relacionada con la retinopatía hipertensiva en paciente femenino de 64 años.

A patient is presented for an optometric consultation to change her aerial lenses, when performing the corresponding test, it is found that the patient cannot identify the letters of the optotype, which is why this clinical case is of great interest and importance for the analysis of hypertensive retinopathy. It is common to find damage at the retinal level, as evidenced by the characteristic signs of cotton wool spots, cross-linking of veins and arteries, hemorrhages either in flames or round, silver threads, or even arterial or venous occlusions, which undoubtedly will cause a sudden decrease in visual health. For these reasons, it is important to identify the alterations that may be caused by this pathology and to be able to carry out a timely treatment plan, with the aim of deepening and improving the visual quality of the patient, identifying the cause so that the specialist can give the method pharmacological treatment. that was used in this clinical case is documentary bibliography and it is determined as a result that the patient has cardiac involvement, increased pressure, presents cottony exudates and was diagnosed by the specialist with hypertensive retinopathy, it is concluded that the sudden decrease in vision of this patient is due to retinal artery obstruction.
