| Summary: | At present, values and principles are fundamental elements for life in society that are less and less important, because education in the family is not adequate and the teacher's guide is not effective, since it focuses its activities on the transfer of knowledge and not in the integral student formation of the student. For this reason, the objective of this research is to determine the influence that the practice of values has on the academic performance of students in the 5th year of Basic General Education of the Rosa Chávez Sellan Educational Unit. For which a methodological framework consisting of a mixed approach was applied; that is, qualitative-quantitative, the types of research were: descriptive, documentary and field; while the methods applied are empirical and inductive, both supported by survey techniques and interviews, aimed at 5th grade students and the teacher in charge. The results of the investigation reveal the absence of pedagogical methodologies that promote the practice of values and that positively influence academic performance, it was also determined that behavioral problems are generated by family and social factors outside the educational context, while that another of the results determined that both parents and teachers do not promote the practice of values continuously. |
