Özet:Preeclampsia is a pregnancy-induced hypertensive disorder that manifests clinically after 20 weeks of gestation. It was described more than 2,000 years ago, the lack of timely management leads to eclampsia, however, the cause remains unknown and is associated with major maternal-perinatal health problems. In preeclampsia, hypertension and proteinuria are mainly present, in addition to edema, when seizures occur, in addition to these symptoms, it is diagnosed as eclampsia. In this project it has been proposed as a general objective to determine the predisposing maternal factors to develop preeclampsia in women from 20 to 40 years of age at the Dr. Gustavo Domínguez Hospital, Santo Domingo de las Tsachilas, January-June 2019. As a methodology the inductive method with the qualitative and quantitative research modality and type of descriptive research. The study population is located in the Dr. Gustavo Domínguez Zambrano Hospital from which a sample of 183 pregnant women patients that were attended during the January-June 2019 period is selected. Surveys were applied and data were collected, for this purpose registered the Excel and SPSS software. As results, it was obtained that the most likely maternal ages to suffer from preeclampsia are from the age of 30, in addition it was analyzed that poor diet is a factor that leads to this disease. Other factors are poor knowledge of the symptoms of preeclampsia and the neglect factor of prenatal controls. Statistically we see that of the surveys 9.29% are 30 years old and is the age with the most preeclampsia. The poor diet is in 85.25% and the prenatal controls in 66.67%.
