description This case study is based on a 64-year-old female patient who attended the clinic for symptoms of mild abdominal pain after eating food, for which she was diagnosed with unspecified gastrointestinal bleeding, in addition to the patient 5 years ago. was diagnosed with the acquired immunodeficiency virus. HIV is considered one of the most common diseases of the population worldwide and the eating disorders that occur in this disease considerably affect the human being since it produces a great weight loss. A good diet cannot cure the disease itself, but it can contribute to maintaining and improving the nutritional status of people with HIV/AIDS. Nutritional support is of paramount importance from the early stages of infection to prevent nutritional deficiencies from developing. Eating well helps improve and maintain the function of the immune system, and helps the body protect against opportunistic infection. This case study makes nutritional recommendations according to the caloric needs of the patient, so the food plan will help to recover the weight loss that she presents in addition to improving her levels in the biochemical analyzes that are high and decreased due to opportunistic diseases that occur in HIV.
