El infante junto con sus padres padece de miopía, pero en el caso del menor la alta miopía congénita se asoció con el estrabismo el cual genero la desviación del ojo izquierdo, situación que afecto a su apariencia física ocasionando problemas de autoestima y el avance de la miopía interfiriendo en sus actividades diarias y académicas. Los padres del paciente mencionan que el niño usa lentes desde los ocho años, pero por motivos económicos no ha podido acudir a consulta durante un periodo de tres años, situación que ocasiono que los músculos del ojo izquierdo se fueran atrofiando causando la desviación ocular.
