Opis
Izvleček:Stress is a physical, psychological, and mental reaction of the organism to a difficult situation, also known as a personal imbalance, the internal and external imbalance, as well as the way the subject manages the situation. On the other hand, emotional intelligence is the ability to recognize personal and environmental emotions. This ability is embedded in self-awareness, knowing how to direct emotions positively. The interest of this investigation focuses on determining how stress affects the emotional intelligence of students. To achieve this, the level of perceived stress was evaluated using the Perceived Stress Scale (PPS-14) and Daniel Goleman's emotional intelligence test to determine the student's orientation. These instruments were applied to 76 adolescents from the "Babahoyo Educational Unit". The investigation was conducted descriptively and concluded that stress affects the emotional intelligence of eighth-grade students from the institution.
