Description
Summary:VIII. SUMMARY This research work was carried out in the faculty of agricultural sciences of the Technical University of Babahoyo which is located at km 7 ½ of the Montalvo road in the province of Los Ríos, at a height of 8 masl, with the coordinates geographic UTM: 668742 E and 9801033 N. The annual average of precipitation is 2656 mm; 76% relative humidity; and the temperature is 26,2 ° C. Savoy grass, from the irradiated seedbed including a non-irradiated control, was used as seeding material. The treatments were constituted by 5 levels of irradiation that are: 50; 75; 100 and 150 Gy including a non-irradiated control 0 Gy. We used the experimental design Random Complete Blocks with five treatments and four repetitions, the test of significance used was Tukey at 95 % probability. All the necessary agricultural work was done on the Savoy grass for its normal development as soil preparation, sowing, fertilization, weed control. To estimate the effects of the treatments, the following data were taken: Height of foliage at 30 - 60 and 90 days, height of plant at 90 days, chlorophyll level 90 days, length of spike in, length of leaf at 30 - 60 and 90 days, width of the leaf at 30 - 60 and 90 days, leaf area obtained 90 days, stem diameter at 30 - 60 and 90 days, number of knots 90 days, number of leaves at 30 - 60 and 90 days, initial stem biomass, initial foliar biomass, dry stem biomass, dry foliar biomass, initial plant biomass, dry plant biomass, dry plant biomass, plant humidity, flowering days. Based on the results obtained, it was determined that in the height of the foliage all the irradiation levels did not show statistical differences. Regarding the chlorophyll level, all irradiated and non-irradiated treatments showed no statistical differences. In the dry leaf biomass variable, all the irradiated and non-irradiated treatments did not show statistical differences, numerically the treatments that stood out were T3 (75 Gy) and T4 (100 Gy) with 91,25. Similar results were obtained with the variable dry biomass of the plant, all irradiated and non-irradiated treatments showed no statistical differences, numerically the treatment that stood out was T3 (75 Gy) with 235. Key words: Irradiation levels, chlorophyll level, yield.
