Shrnutí:The cultivation of the orange is of great importance in the country, since it is profitable but it is not used efficiently; production is not yet fully commercialized following a process encompassed by a series of stages, among the most used are collection and transport. The cultivation of oranges represents a great economic importance for producers who are dedicated to this type of cultivation, since this activity involves a series of jobs, it depends on the different stages of crop management, harvest and post-harvest. The study methodology that was carried out was the compilation of information from magazines, newspapers, scientific articles and web pages, about the production, commercialization and economic importance of the orange crop in Ecuador. The information obtained was carried out by means of the analysis, synthesis and summary technique, in order for the reader to know about the current situation experienced by orange producers in Ecuador. The conclusions determine that orange producers have very little technical assistance from the institutions in charge of the agricultural system, as well as little support from development organizations; The lack of knowledge of the marketing chain has caused producers to sell the fruit directly to intermediaries, who take advantage of and define the price of the fruit without considering the sacrifice and the expenses generated by them, when producing the fruit; farmers make an effort to maintain their farms with their own resources to be able to sow and then harvest, seeking to obtain profits to support their households.
