Resumo:Sensationalist programs are becoming more widespread within the media, particularly in television programs in Ecuador, for this reason, this case study aims to reflect on sensationalist programs and their content in the case of red alert. Generally, sensational programs are characterized by broadcasting information that attracts attention, creating controversy. It is normal for sensationalist communication programs to show false or damaging information. Most of the programs seek to draw the attention of the public, making the facts known in an exaggerated way, highlighting their headlines by making them known in a very striking way; They choose images that cause an impact or curiosity in people to know more about the news, as is the case with red alert content. The sensational programs in Ecuador, has been increasing in society as an unstoppable phenomenon, growing in a significant way, which has not stopped until today, creating many doubts in people about the existence of what is exposed in its headlines.
